Staff spotlight Lori Nichols

Lori Nichols

Lori Nichols is a native of Collinsville, Illinois. She earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Psychology and Sociology as well as a Master of Science in Education from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Following graduate school, she returned to the St. Louis area and now calls Crestwood, Missouri home.  She began her career in graduate medical education at Saint Louis University as a surgical subspecialities Program Coordinator. In 2008, she joined the Department of Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis as the Child Neurology Residency Coordinator. 

Nichols served as a member of the Child Neurology Task Force which developed the Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) credentialing exam for coordinators in the specialty. Over her 16 years with the Division of Pediatric & Developmental Neurology, she has also served as Fellowship Coordinator for five non-accredited training programs and had responsibility for coordinating annual lectureships, resident and faculty recruitment visits, regional conferences, social gatherings, and graduation exercises.  In 2018, she attained the Senior Residency Coordinator designation.

Outside of work, Nichols spends time with her family (husband, twin daughters and twin rescue cats). She is a busy cheer and volleyball Mom, hobby photographer, art aficionado, bird nerd, travel enthusiast and enjoys reading memoirs and World War II history.
