Eleven members of the Department of Neurology have been selected as 2026 award recipients by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) in recognition of their accomplishments in education, research, or service. The AAN is the world’s largest professional organization in the fields of neurology and neurosciences and publishes several high-impact journals including the flagship journal Neurology. The full list of awardees includes nine faculty members and two staff members:
- David J. Callahan, MD: A.B. Baker Teacher Recognition Award (pediatric neurology)
- David B. Clifford, MD: Mridha Spirit of Neurology Humanitarian Award
- Stefanie Geisler, MD: Mitchell B. Max Award for Neuropathic Pain
- Salah G. Keyrouz, MD, FAHA, FCCM: A.B. Baker Teacher Recognition Award (adult neurology)
- Eric C. Landsness, MD, PhD: Wayne A. Hening Sleep Medicine Investigator Award
- Soe S. Mar, MD, MBBS, MRCP: Program Director Recognition Award (residency)
- Chrissy McIntosh: Education Coordinator Recognition Award (clerkship)
- Timothy M. Miller, MD, PhD: Potamkin Prize for Research in Pick’s, Alzheimer’s, and Related Diseases
- Lori Nichols: Education Coordinator Recognition Award (residency)
- Yan Wang, MD: Michael S. Pessin Stroke Leadership Prize
- Jonathan P. Williams, MD: Health Care Equity Research Award
The award winners will be recognized at the 2026 AAN Annual Meeting, which will be held April 18–22 in Chicago, Illinois.
