Xing “Cathy” Dai, MD, is the newest member of the Adult Neurology Residency Program leadership team at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. She will join Salim Chahin, MD, MSCE, Renee Van Stavern, MD, and Gregory Wu, MD, PhD, as an associate program director, starting July 1, 2025. She began transitioning into the role in February 2025 and will continue to work closely with the current administrative team to maintain and enhance the program’s standing as one of the top neurology residency programs in the U.S.

Cathy Dai, MD
Dai is an assistant professor of Neurology in the Section of Stroke & Cerebrovascular Disease at WashU Medicine. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, she completed her medical degree at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, followed by neurology residency training at Brown University. She then returned to St. Louis for her stroke fellowship at WashU Medicine and joined the faculty in 2023. Dai works closely with trainees at all levels, providing education and mentorship in inpatient and outpatient settings. She also serves on several departmental education committees and directs the Comprehensive Outpatient Stroke Clinic. She brings a wealth of passion and a wide diversity of interests to the residency community.
