She pursued entrepreneurial ventures for a number of years before taking a break to focus on family. In 2016, she earned an MHA from St. Louis University and was selected from a nationwide pool of applicants to be the executive management fellow in the dean’s office. Before starting with the Department of Neurology, she served as the manager of operations for the Department of Pathology and WUSM campus project manager for the implementation of Workday.

Outside of work, Shahab likes to spend time with her family (husband and three sons). She is an avid ice hockey fan and hockey/sports mom. Two of her boys play ice hockey (one at the college level) and one plays basketball. She is very crafty and uses her creativity to make her own greeting cards and jewelry, working on her Etsy site at the midnight hour. She also enjoys skiing and public speaking and is always looking for the next challenge, both on a professional and personal level.
