Jessica Hatch joined the Department of Neurology in 2025 as the director of Education and Business Administration. She has been at WashU since 2011 and was most recently assistant dean and director of Doctoral Programs at Olin Business School. She is passionate about the transformative power of higher education for individuals and the community. In her work, she enjoys analyzing programming and processes to improve outcomes.
Hatch’s educational background is in health communication research. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Southern Utah University and a master’s from Arizona State University. She is especially grateful for the opportunity to support the education mission in Neurology as her mother, Lori, has Parkinson’s disease. The excellent patient care and research work in the department improves the lives of her family and many others.
Hatch spent most of her childhood in Louisiana, Missouri — a small river town north of St. Louis where she grew up water-skiing on the Mississippi. She loves to travel and enjoys planning trips almost as much as taking them! Favorite destinations include St. Simons Island, Georgia, Paris, France, and Zion’s National Park. Other hobbies cooking including gluten-free baking and spending time outdoors. Hatch and her husband, Lance, keep busy with three children: Amelie, Kae and James.
