Investigating the mechanisms of neural injury, neurodegeneration and vision loss, the Tang Lab seeks to uncover how damage to the visual system occurs and to develop strategies that promote neuroprotection and regeneration. Led by neuro-ophthalmologist-scientist Yunshuo “Caroline” Tang, MD, PhD, the lab integrates basic and translational research to advance treatments for optic nerve diseases and preserve vision in patients affected by neurological and ophthalmic disorders.
