The Graduate Medical Education Committee has elected Jordan Amar, MD, as its Fellow Representative. He was selected from a pool of about 600 Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis fellows and will serve for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Amar is a fellow with the Section of Vascular Neurology.
“I am thrilled for the opportunity to represent my colleagues on behalf of the Consortium and GME. It’s an exciting time to be in academic neurology and medical education,” Amar said. “I am forever grateful to Drs. Renee Van Stavern, Bob Bucelli, Jin-Moo Lee, Baback Arshi, Allyson Zazulia, James Giles, Osvaldo Laurido-Soto, Rami Assadi, Salim Chahin, Doug Larsen and Arun Varadhachary — among so many wonderful WashU Faculty — for their unwavering support and for each serving as a beacon for the physician and educator I want to become.”
Amar’s other Washington University accomplishments include publishing a paper on the first day of fellowship, holding the program record for most resident clinics staffed in a year and managing multiple neurologic emergencies while trapped in an elevator.
