The Department of Neurology congratulates three staff members for being awarded the Neurology Staff Employees of the Quarter for Q4 FY26. The department accepts nominations for three award categories to highlight the dedication and accomplishments of our staff members — clinical, research and administration.
Clinical Staff Employee of the Quarter
Angela Wernle
Research Nurse Coordinator II
Movement Disorders

Angela Wernle, RN, BSN, consistently delivers outstanding care to our patients and facilitates multiple aspects of our clinical and research missions. I rely on Angie to triage clinical questions and issues that arise, and I am consistently impressed by her outstanding judgement and medical decision-making. Through her tireless work responding to phone calls and MyChart messages, Angie is the face of our section and a key point of contact for our patients and families. Angie is a true team player – no job is too big or too small. It is rare for me to go through an afternoon of clinic without at least one (often many more) patients and families complementing Angie’s prompt, professional, and compassionate care in helping them navigate challenging symptoms of their neurologic disease.
Research Staff Employee of the Quarter
Maggie Robinson
Clinical Research Coordinator I
Pediatric Epilepsy

Maggie is the newest member of the Rett research team but you would never guess it based on her performance. She has demonstrated amazing aptitude and brings with her tremendous organizational skills, critical thinking and bedside manner to the team. She has been instrumental to moving the team through a busy new phase of gene therapy trial.
Administration Staff Employee of the Quarter
Cassandra Lawrence
Senior Department Accounting Assistant

Cassandra consistently goes above and beyond in everything she does. She is always helpful, kind, and professional, approaching every interaction with a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to support others. Whether assisting with daily operations or responding to unexpected requests, she is dependable, responsive, and ensures that tasks are handled efficiently and with care. Her professionalism, exceptional work ethic, and commitment to serving faculty and staff make a meaningful impact on our department every day. Cassandra’s contributions often happen behind the scenes, but they are essential to the success of the Chair’s Office and the Department of Neurology as a whole. We are incredibly grateful for all that Cassandra does. She exemplifies the values of teamwork, service, and excellence, and she is truly deserving of the Department of Neurology Staff Award.
