The main goal of our research is to understand how adaptive immune responses are regulated during inflammation in the central nervous system (CNS). The Wu Lab investigates the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis (MS) and related neuroimmunologic diseases through several ongoing projects.

Cellular mechanisms in human disease
We study monocytes, microglia, and B cells from patients to uncover cell-intrinsic abnormalities that contribute to immune dysregulation in neuroinflammatory conditions.

Experimental models of neuroinflammation
Using various experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) systems, we model the cellular and molecular immune contributions to neuroinflammation. These models help us dissect the mechanisms driving CNS pathology.

Clinical trials and therapeutic development
We are actively involved in clinical trials aimed at identifying highly effective disease-modifying therapies for MS. We also investigate the mechanisms of action behind currently approved treatments to improve therapeutic strategies.
