Investigating how disruptions in protein quality control contribute to muscle and neurodegenerative diseases. Using biochemistry, cell culture, animal models and patient tissue, the lab studies conditions like inclusion body myopathy, Paget’s disease, frontotemporal dementia and limb-girdle muscular dystrophy to uncover mechanisms of protein aggregation and cellular degeneration.
