Worried about memory loss? Prompted by growing awareness of cognitive health, many older adults and their families are seeking answers about memory loss and dementia. While serious memory decline is not a normal part of aging, conditions like Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy body dementia and frontal temporal disorders are common causes of cognitive impairment. Fortunately, reversible factors such as depression, medication interactions and thyroid issues can also affect memory and thinking — making early evaluation essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

As one of the largest programs of its kind, our multidisciplinary team of specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, neuropsychology and more provides world-class care for all types of epilepsy, offering access to the latest treatments, including neurostimulation and surgery, to help children thrive.

Focused on supporting children with rare neurodevelopmental disorders, our clinic is a collaborative effort between WashU Medicine and St. Louis Children’s Hospital, offering expert care for Rett Syndrome, MECP2 duplications, CDKL5 and FOXG1-related conditions. Within each visit, families meet with a multidisciplinary team — including specialists in neurology, therapy and nutrition — to receive comprehensive evaluations and personalized recommendations.
