The Department of Neurology congratulates three staff members for being awarded the Neurology Staff Employees of the Quarter for Q3 FY25. The department accepts nominations for three award categories to highlight the dedication and accomplishments of our staff members — clinical, research and administration.
Clinical Staff Employee of the Quarter
Ashley Wade
New Patient Coordinator – Pediatrics
Patient Access Team

Ashley has been a shining member of our team for quite some time now and her radiant personality and hard work is known by many. Ashley continues to be a top performer on her team, as well as a top SUPPORTER. Ashley encourages the entire team to strive to do more and be more. Beyond that, it is widely apparent how much Ashley loves what she does and who she does it with and for. Ashley constantly puts the patients first and works her hardest to get referrals completed correctly and quickly. Furthermore, Ashley continues to be a person the entire team can turn to. She is there to answer questions, provide guidance, but also to simply be there for her fellow teammates. Ashley’s attitude and demeanor make this team a happier place.
Research Staff Employee of the Quarter
Jesse Markway
Clinical Research Specialist
Neuromuscle – ALS Center

Jesse oversees all of our clinical studies for the WUSM ALS center. Under his leadership we have established our center as a national and international leader in the world of ALS clinical trials and clinical studies. The primary figure in making this is a possibility is Jesse. He is an understated genius and a savant in the clinical studies/trials world. Colleagues at other academic institutions have asked how we ended up with a star like Jesse, his skillset stands out that much!!! And while he excels on the frontlines as a coordinator and honestly does it better than anyone in the world, he has also been an exemplary mentor and role model to the many coordinators that have trained underneath him and tried to capture some of that “Jesse magic” in their approach to clinical trial coordination.
